Team Telecom Armenia will use the 25G PON fibre, based on the Quillion chipset, to reuse its existing fibre broadband equipment to address demand for more capacity and enhanced broadband services.
“Being a national operator, we see this project as a part of our mission to enhance broadband services not only in Yerevan but also to promote a new digital era across the entire country,” said Team Telecom Armenia CEO Hayk Yesayan.

“This initiative not only enhances connectivity for individuals and businesses in Armenia but also plays a crucial role in the country's economic and social development,” said Nokia senior vice president and head of Europe for network infrastructure business Matthieu Bourguignon.
Today, Team Telecom Armenia’s network, based on Nokia's 25G PON technology, covers around 300,000 households across Armenia, with construction actively continuing.
Last April, Nokia claimed a world first after wholesale provider NBN Co used its fibre access platform for a live network demonstration of multiple passive optical network (PON) technologies at the same time.
Last June, New Zealand-based Chorus deployed Nokia’s 25G PON solution in a live commercial network for retail service provider 2Degrees.
