About an hour ago, I received an email, purporting to be from iTWire's CEO and Editor-in-Chief, Andrew Matler, wanting ME to buy gift cards on his behalf as a "surprise for hardworking staff", but several massive red flags obviously make this the latest version of a scam I've heard of before.
